The month of February offers plenty of opportunity for travel, and plenty of reason to celebrate. If you have a special anniversary or a honeymoon in the works, Valentine’s Day is coming up! A national holiday also is coming up with President’s Day, giving us a long weekend. I am always ready for a Gal Trip or a Pal Trip if perhaps a group of friends is more preferred. Solo Travel is always a favorite of mine, and helps awaken new exciting discoveries about myself. Did I mention that National Book A Cruise Day is February 3rd? What better way to celebrate!
Let’s dive into the four key segments and get February Inspiration flowing.
You will often find South America high on the list. The reason being that it is summer time there while we experience cold in the United States. Plenty of cruises will begin in key locations like Buenos Aires, or perhaps sail around the continent entirely with a passage through the Panama Canal included. For nature lovers, the Chilean Fjords are in full beauty as the glaciers melt into cascading waterfalls. These cruises often introduce travelers to a continent not yet enjoyed, and leaves them wanting more.
The very best experiences are when it is comfortable, and Egypt will be comfortable this time of year to enjoy the river Nile. I remember being introduced to a Nile River Cruise while watching an Agatha Christie movie. Relaxing along the river, passing ancient monuments and wonders, all while solving a mystery made me inspired to experience this first hand one day. While River Cruising is often associated with Europe, which will be having winter just like us, this can open the door to other experiences like the Mekong in Southeast Asia, or the Magdalena in Colombia, or even a river safari in the Chobe.
The time to check off that final continent of Antarctica has arrived. Just like South America, this continent is also experiencing summer, and February is the perfect time to go. This month allows you to go farther south than usual as the ice melts and opens up coves and landings not often accessible during other months. The ability to get as far south as possible brings a travel desire upon us voyagers. It also allows you to enjoy additional stops like the Falkland Islands or South Georgia Island. Why not make this a trip of a lifetime with a South America Cruise paired with an Antarctica Expedition.

Can you say, baby season? This month will bring thousands of baby wildebeest into the world. The serengeti will be the place to be as you watch new families being made each and every day. And where there are baby calves, there will also be big cats. They too will have families to take care of, and will be often seen out in the plains. This is the perfect time to experience that circle called life while on safari in places like Tanzania and Kenya.
