Imagine white sand beaches that feel like powdered sugar underneath your feet. Now imagine looking out into various colors of blue you did not know could exist. Now imagine stepping into those waters, and seeing crystal clear water all around you. While Turks & Caicos may be near indescribable, I hope you were able to imagine what I personally experienced when I visited these islands. A luxurious voyage awaits you, so let’s dive into Turks & Caicos together.

As a luxury travel advisor who has completed a professional visit to the islands of Turks & Caicos, you can be sure that the knowledge here and shared is after real training and education. My understanding of the Sister Islands that make Turks & Caicos ensures you have peace of mind of working with a true professional. Feel free to see this and all certifications on the CARTE ATLAS Accolades page.

Turks & Caicos is located east of The Bahamas. You can find dozens of direct flights land daily at Providenciales International Airport (PLS). Luxury transfers whisk you away to your resort if you are staying on “Provo” to enjoy the beaches and waters. You will find ferry services run throughout the day for island-hopping to North and South Caicos, or local flights and charters to other destinations. For those who love to cruise, I find that Grand Turk is best discovered at the cruise port. This island comes with an easy pace, and most visitors opt for a golf cart or rental car to explore the island. You could also find a quick flight from Providenciales and find ferry service between Grand Turk and Salt Cay.

CARTE ATLAS advises all travelers to become aware of the International Travel Advisory Map from the U.S. Department of State. This map lists out the levels of travel. As of the publication of this blog post, Turks & Caicos carries a Level 2 “exercise increased caution” advisory from the U.S. State Department. That is the same level assigned to France, United Kingdom, and even Antarctica. Once you are educated on the level, then you can decide if you wish to visit where millions of voyagers do each and every year.

The Tourism Department states that major international carriers provide roaming services. Before travel, contact your provider to enable international roaming. Local GSM coverage is available through Flow and Digicel, and prepaid SIM cards are easy to purchase for data and local calls.
All visitors must have a valid passport that remains valid for at least six months beyond their intended stay. You may be asked to show proof of accommodation, a return or onward ticket, and sufficient funds for your visit.

If you wish to talk about an icon, the island of Providenciales shines as one. Providenciales is known worldwide for the award winning Grace Bay, which has that white sugar beach I mentioned earlier. There are beautiful turquoise waters that surround her, and she is one of the easiest islands to get to by plane. Luxury resorts with michelin guide restaurants await you here. I myself have experienced her beauty and found her mesmerizing. Locally known as Provo, the island’s seafood cuisine with a highlight of Conch are not to be missed. Enjoying a day on a catamaran exploring her reefs and bays is a must-do experience to truly appreciate these clear blue waters. And do not forget her local flair with Fish Fry, casinos and local nightlifte. She is an icon of the Sister Islands that make up Turks & Caicos.

Enjoy the capital of the Sister Islands here in Cockburn Town and explore the well known Governor’s Beach. You might find wild donkeys coming to say hello to you as you wander around the town. History and natural beauty hold hands on this beautiful island visited by luxury cruise lines every year. The waters below the ship are teeming with life, and you will find snorkel and scuba adventures abound here. If you arrive between January and March, whales may pass you by as they make their migrations. History Lovers will find plenty to enjoy here, from the Grand Turk Lighthouse to the Turks and Caicos National Museum, as history comes to life.

The Caicos islands sit between Provo and Grand Turk. Made up of three distinct islands, North, Middle and South, you will find each one brings a unique style of luxury to Turks & Caicos.

If being surrounded by nature is in your realm of luxury, then look no further than North Caicos. Imagine beautiful and tranquil waters, filled with bright pink Flamingos that call this island home. Mangroves that can be explored by kayak while you slowly glide through their groves. Stunning and quiet beaches like Horsestable or Pumpkin Bluff are just a ferry ride away from Provo. Relax in the beauty of Mother Nature here in North Caicos.

For a more wild untamed style of nature, Middle Caicos greets you with beautiful rugged wonder. Feel free to explore amazing natural wonders like Conch Bar Caves or the Crossing Place Trail. Did I mention it has a world-famous beach known as Bambarra Beach? And you will find Mudjin Harbor to be a jaw dropping experience your first time seeing it. The best option for a visit is to traverse the ferry to North Caicos and then have a driver take you to Middle Caicos.

For luxury hideaways and private, exclusive feelings of beauty, look no further than South Caicos. Enjoy snorkeling and diving in crystal clear waters on this island. Spot whales from January through March as they make their migration. And for those who enjoy sailing, find the South Caicos Regatta here each May. Beaches are always an option from Long Beach to East Bay, as South Caicos becomes a home away from home.

Multiple and stunning Cays call Turks & Caicos their home. The Sister Islands have four most well known Cays. The most historic is Salt Cay. Its historic presence is because it was once the beating heart of the salt trade in the region. Enjoy the ruins of bygone eras while watching whales make their migration from January to March. Salt Cay can be reached via a flight from Provo or a ferry from Grand Turk.

Ambergris is the epitome of private luxury as it hosts its own private airport, while select resorts and villas call her home. It is designed as the ultimate getaway as you are away from it all here on what can feel like your own private island. With only one resort, as well as private villas, this is the place to be to let barefoot luxury take over. The airport has only 15 routes from the United States that make the experience feel all that more reserved. With beaches like Hawkins and Columbus, you will relish in this new found beauty known as Ambergris.

Parrot Cay and Pine Cay sit next to each other, and are accessible from Provo. Parrot Cay is made famous by its 1,000 acres of white sand beaches. With only one resort on the cay, it truly feels like an escape from the world while you wander her shorelines. Pine Cay sits right at the edge of the world’s third largest barrier reef system. With clear turquoise waters lapping at you as your snorkel or dive to explore, this Cay specializes in quiet and barefoot luxury. With one luxury resort to enjoy, you will find complete serenity here since no ferries land here. Your arrival is coordinated and luxurious all wrapped in one.

With crystal clear and bright blue waters washing against white sugar beaches, it is hard to decide what to do in Turks & Caicos. You could simply stay on the beach each and every day and be perfectly content. And that is not a bad option at all. For those who wish for more than the beach and waters, we have found a few exciting options to indulge in.

Aside from the beaches located at your hotel, I find that a day trip to other beaches makes a perfect day. Grace Bay is the iconic and world renowned beach on Provo that should be seen and experienced. Governor’s Beach on Grand Turk brings a fantastic beauty to any person deciding to visit the capitol island. And Bambarra right at the heart of the Sister Islands holds a special place for you. Be sure to experience a few beaches on your visit to Turks & Caicos.

From January into March, you will find families of whales visiting these islands just like you. Humpback whales explore the waters on a migration pattern that brigns them right near islands like Salt Cay, Grand Turk, and South Caicos. A boat tour with a licensed guide brings you at a safe distance to experience these peaceful creatures making their journey.

With the world’s third largest great barrier reef off its coast, Turks & Caicos gives those who enjoy water activities a special thrill. Consider a catamaran taking you out to the reef where you slide into the clear blue waters. Life vest on and snorkel or scuba gear attached, you explore this beauty natural wonder. I was able to experience this myself while enjoying a catamaran by Grace Bay Resorts during my visit to the islands. It was a beautiful experience and one I will never forget.

A trip to North Caicos usually means one thing, Flamingos! These bright pink creatures call Turks & Caicos home, and especially upon the island of North Caicos. Imagine hundreds of them gliding over the clear blue waters. Your binoculars, and your eyes, will hardly believe what they see. These beautiful creatures enjoy their natural habitat while you gaze upon them.

With 700 islands across 16 chains, The Bahamas has plenty to offer. The beaches are just the first taste, as you will find fishing coves, swimming pigs, and endless natural and secluded cays to explore. The question is, where to start?
When we think Bermuda, we “Think Pink!” due to its famous pink sand beaches. But that pink blush is more than just sand, it’s part of their culture too! Explore why Bermuda and its three unique regions give us that Pink Feeling every time we visit.

Explore the five hotels of this iconic resort on Paradise Island, The Bahamas. From its luxurious and exclusive pools to their efforts to protect marine life, Atlantis stands out above the rest. Is it time to check in?
